Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has hired Kevin Wood, P.E. as associate vice president in the firm’s Fairfax, Virginia, office. In his new role, Wood will manage the firm’s mid-Atlantic water, wastewater, and water reuse projects and lead strategic business development initiatives.
With some 30 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, Wood has managed a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering projects, including planning, design, and construction management of water and sewer utility projects for numerous municipal agencies throughout the D.C. Metro area. Before joining Dewberry, Wood served as director of engineering at Loudoun Water, where he was responsible for long-range planning and day-to-day operations of the engineering division, including utility master planning, capital programs, and land development programs. “I am very excited about Dewberry’s commitment to growing the municipal water and wastewater practice,” says Wood. “I look forward to leveraging my experience and relationships as a key contributor to the company’s growth in this market sector.”
Wood holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s in civil and environmental engineering from West Virginia University. He is a member of the Water Environment Federation, American Water Works Association, and Virginia Water Environment Association, where he served as president from 2005 to 2006. Wood has been published in Water Environment and Technology.
